From the all-natural aromatherapy of its indigenous nutmeg, cinnamon, and other spices to its spectacular collection of waterfalls, mountainous Grenada and its smaller siblings are pure exotic departures. Singular explorations include diving or snorkeling in Molinere Underwater Sculpture Park, a submerged gallery of coral-clad concrete figures that includes the circular “Vicissitudes,” cast from local children holding hands. Groups can also tour historic forts and rum distilleries and explore local treasures, such as Grand Étang National Park, located at the base of an extinct volcano, and Dusquene Bay, renowned for its petroglyphs.
For conferences and corporate retreats, standouts in Grenada’s capital of St. George include the 22-room Mount Cinnamon Resort, 64-room Spice Island Beach Resort and 229-room Radisson Grenada Beach Resort, all with access to spectacular Grand Anse Beach. An hour’s scenic drive away in St. Patrick, Belmont Estate is a fully functional 17th century plantation offering tours, conference space, and a 250-seat restaurant.
