In South Beach, South Fin Grill touts panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and Verrazano Bridge. Meanwhile, in historic St. George, premier steakhouse Ruddy & Dean is ideally located a stone’s throw away from famed sports and cultural attractions, and Beso satisfies taste buds with excellent Spanish cuisine and tapas. In New Dorp, nothing says mouth-watering like a trip to Brioso, which means “lively” in Italian and lives up to its name in traditional Sicilian dishes and festive ambience. Staten Island Museum, located in Snug Harbor, which has everything you need to host a successful event and offers a History Center Gallery space on the grounds of the cultural center. The museum’s entire St. George location is available to groups. Another crowd-pleaser includes the famed St. George Theatre, which can host 2,800 delegates just steps from the Staten Island Ferry. And for small meetings with a big impact, head to the park-like grounds of the Staten Island Zoo.
All aboard the Staten Island Ferry, a fixture of the island that takes passengers on a water voyage of the amazing sights of New York Harbor 24 hours a day. In 2017, a waterfront entertainment district will make its debut here, featuring the 630-foot-tall New York Wheel lighting up the New York skyline and a one-of-a kind shopping destination in Empire Outlets. And while you’re in this part of the island, a Staten Island Yankees game is a perfect way to enjoy the national pastime. The jewel of South Beach is a restored boardwalk that stretches nearly 2 miles, with a fishing pier here noted as one of the longest in New York City. For serene views of another sort, a trip to Rosebank and the Alice Austen House Museum is in order. The museum, named for the pioneering American photographer, offers spectacular glimpses of the Statue of Liberty, Lower Manhattan and the Verrazano Bridge. Continue exploring in Historic Richmond Town, an authentic town and farm museum featuring more than 130,000 historic treasures from the 17th century. And the famed Staten Island Zoo is known for showcasing some of the most interesting, lesser-known species of the animal kingdom.
