The archipelago-nation’s largest and northernmost island, St. Vincent, is dominated by 4,048-foot active volcano La Soufriere (last eruption, 1979), with full-day hiking tours to the summit for intrepid groups. The island’s picture-perfect scenery includes Wallilabou Bay, which appears in the opening scenes of Curse of The Black Pearl, the first of three Pirates of the Caribbean films shot in the area, and a collection of black sand beaches.
In the bayside capital of Kingstown—the “City of Arches”—popular business haunts include the 26-room Cobblestone Inn, housed in a former 1814 sugar factory and featuring a rooftop restaurant and bar and nearby English pub-style Basil’s.
On the private island of Mustique, high-end corporate and incentive groups of 10 can rent Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger’s Japanese-inspired Stargroves compound, or stay at the exclusive Cotton House. Other exclusive escapes include the 115-acre Petit St. Vincent private island resort, available for rental year-round.
